Stop This Stupidness!!

By Kerwin De Matas

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Before starting this article, I just wanted to let everyone know, that this was written with the intention of making a complaint against the Municipality of the city of Santiago, and with no other ulterior motive. This was done only, so that the Municipality would do what's right, and to stop laying traps for it's citizens.

No Parking Sign, But Marked For Parking.

It's totally unbelievable, that in many of the city's streets, drivers would see roads marked to park, but, on returning to their cars, the great surprise of a parking ticket, served by your neighbourhood municipality inspector. How can it be possible that a road be marked for parking, but approximately 25yards down the road would be a parking sign that's supposed to verify, that no parking is allowed on the entire block, beautiful, isn't it!

Observe The Lines

Look, if a ticket needs to paid for a genuine infraction caused, it just has to be paid, no questions asked. But is it right, for a Municipality whose job it is to look out for the interests of it's constituents, to continue laying traps, so that they can pay all the damages caused in Santiago after all those riots?!

Marked For Parking

Most citizens, just do not have the time or experience to go around investigating all the hot spots, designated as parking traps. But definitely, an investigation is needed! Imagine, if a person wanted to justify, that where they parked was indeed a parking trap, presenting an entire album of photos as proof, would be in my opinion, a total waste of time!!.

Correctly Signalled

It would be better to show off your beautiful photos to your friends, and cry while doing so, because of the $32,000clp-$59.00usd that had to be paid anyway!! What a laugh you must be having, Mr.Mayor of Santiago, just let those fools continue to park in your traps, and the money would continue to roll in. When I think about it, it really is an easy way to get easy money..... After all, you guys have the clout to do what ever you want, and a small person would always be made to look like the lying idiot. Of course, it's known that calle Isadora between Marcoleta and Sara del Campo where the infraction was caused, would be cleverly covered up, so that the Municipality would come out shining from an accusation like this.

Also Correctly Signalled, Etc.....

Citizens of Santiago, be careful when parking, definitely there isn't anywhere in the city that you can park without paying. For me, that's okay, but I just think it's a low blow though, to make the point by placing these traps, that's all. I hope, that with my comments, the Municipality would correct those parking spots, and at the same time, knowing that that 32000 clp´s would never be returned.
